Tell TikTok to STOP SPYING FOR CHINA

China is America’s #1 geopolitical enemy. U.S. officials have assessed that China steals between $200 billion and $600 billion of U.S. intellectual property yearly, from nuclear and stealth fighter technology to corporate and business strategies and plans. 

 

And they do much of it via cyber espionage, all at the behest of the Chinese Communist Party. 

 

In 2016, China entered the social media arena with TikTok, a video-sharing app that now boasts 150 million users in the U.S., mainly teens and young adults. ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, has close ties to the CCP.

 

Make no mistake, China's ultimate goal is nothing short of global military and economic dominance, and they see America as the only obstacle standing in their way.

 

WHY? 

TikTok serves as a Trojan horse for the CCP, which allows the communist regime access to user data and to spy on American citizens. President Trump recognized the national security risk and, in August 2020, signed an executive order to block people from downloading the app, followed by an order for TikTok to sell its US business.

 

The order stated: “TikTok automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users, including Internet and other network activity information such as location data and browsing and search histories. This data collection threatens to allow the Chinese Communist party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information.”

 

Before action could be taken, Joe Biden REVOKED President Trump’s executive order upon taking office. 

 

In March, GOP lawmakers grilled TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew about the app’s potential security risks. Democrats are balking on the ban. Chew was evasive in his answers. 

 

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

The simple solution would be to ban TikTok; that’s up to our politicians. But unfortunately, we cannot count on D.C. to get the job done. 

 

At MRC, we believe in free speech, but when enemies of America hijack that speech to harm America, it becomes a national security — not a free speech — issue. 

 

Here’s what we can do together. Go directly to the source, TikTok USA, and tell them to STOP SPYING ON AMERICANS FOR CHINA!

Cybersecurity experts say the Chinese government, via TikTok, can collect user contact lists, access calendars, scan hard drives, including external ones, and geolocate devices hourly.  

 

TikTok must not be permitted to collect and share user data from Americans and share it with the Chinese Communist Party!
