America’s premier media watchdog, The Media Research Center, launched in 1987 with a handful of staff, few resources, and an ambitious mission: to create a media culture in America where truth and liberty flourish. Today, the MRC’s reputation as the preeminent go-to source of conservative news, news analysis and documentation of liberal media output is well-established. As one of the most trusted organizations in the conservative movement, the MRC fights to uphold truth in an era where “news” is increasingly the liberal narrative du jour. Consequently, we are engaged in an imperative battle against liberal media misinformation, which is designed to push a far-left agenda. Integrating cutting-edge news monitoring capabilities with a sophisticated marketing operation that generates more than 330 million impressions weekly, the MRC advances conservative values, exposes and neutralizes liberal media bias through original reporting and news analysis, and serves as an indispensable educational resource. There is no other organization that does—or is capable of doing—the work that the MRC does.
On the cusp of growth with new, ambitious projects underway, the MRC is establishing a new regional major gifts program structure to tap opportunity, and we are hiring a Regional Major Gift Officer to bring our plans to fruition. The Regional Major Gift Officer will foster, maintain and cultivate relationships with existing donors, while identifying, developing, and stewarding new funding relationships in their region.
MRC Major Gifts Program
The Media Research Center relies on a broad base of donor support to fuel our operations, and our Major Gifts program is essential to that effort. In recognition of its importance, and as part of the expansion of this critical program, the MRC has redesigned its Major Gift program into a regional structure. The Major Gift Officer will be expected to communicate a strong and inspirational case for support, and to build and expand a donor portfolio through:
Collaboration, strategy, and guidance from the Assistant Vice President of Development and Vice President of Development
Support from MRC Development staff, including prospect research, event planning, proposal writing, and more
Established, written presidential communication strategy for major donors, including President’s Reports and solicitations
Access to MRC Founder and President L. Brent Bozell III to strengthen donor cultivation and solicitation
