Investigative Journalism FellowshipFull-time

The Media Research Center, America’s premier media watchdog, is seeking a year-long fellow for its CNSNews Department. The fellow will be officially credentialed as a reporter in Washington, D.C., and spend most days when Congress is in session covering events on Capitol Hill and questioning members of Congress. During the course of the year, each fellow will pursue at least one in-depth investigative report seeking to break news—and have real impact--on the questionable activity of a federal agency or federal official. The fellow will also read an important historical or philosophical book each month and participate in a one-day seminar conducted at CNSNews.com by a conservative college professor who is an expert on the subject of that month’s reading assignment.

MRC Culture is looking for a dependable full-time blogger to write on sports media coverage and document the leftwing bias prevalent in sports journalism. We specifically need people who can clip and edit video for use in blog posts about TV coverage – self –starters who can recognize lefty bias and agitation and act on it.

If you’re the type who watches ESPN or pre-game shows, checks sports blogs and pages daily, this may be for you. If you can talk W.A.R. with the drunk in the jersey and cap at the end of the bar, this may be for you. If you do all that AND hate the politicization of sports in the era of Black Lives Matter and other wokeness, this is definitely for you.

Marketing

Marketing AssistantFull-time

The Marketing Assistant is responsible for some MRC Twitter and Facebook accounts, project reporting, and finding quotes for graphics, graphics tracking, and monitoring/clipping videos from events and posting them to the MRC social channels. 

 

The Marketing Assistant must be able to work in-person at the MRC’s Reston, VA office (no remote-only candidates please).

 

Development

Donor Relations Coordinator Full-time

The Donor Relations Coordinator (DRC) develops and executes effective communication between the MRC Philanthropy Team and major-level donors and assists in managing the day-to-day operational and administrative activities of the Vice-Presidents of Philanthropy and Development by setting and monitoring schedules, organizing the incoming flow of work, prioritizing requests, maintaining a monitoring system, following up to ensure timely responses; and providing logistical support. 

The Donor Relations Coordinator supports the Philanthropy Team through communication efforts with major donors, trip scheduling and execution, proposal development and follow-up, and ensuring that donors are appropriately acknowledged, continuously stewarded, and thanked for their generosity. 

Additionally, the Donor Relations Coordinator executes the Donor Engagement Plan, which includes managing a portfolio of 500-700 mid-range donors, reviewing and revising donor caseloads, overseeing fundraising and outreach, implementing fundraising initiatives to increase revenue and donor retention, maintaining the critical pipeline to major gift officer portfolios, and qualifying donors for movement from mid-level to major donor portfolios or planned giving prospects.

Entertainment TV BloggerPart-time

The MRC On TV blog is looking for FAST, dependable part-time bloggers who can commit to watching and monitoring weekly prime time entertainment shows (think “Big Bang Theory” or “Grey’s Anatomy”) as they air for liberal bias and turn in posts with video clips on tight deadlines. MRC Culture is socially conservative and the On TV blog documents anti-traditional incidents or forays into liberal propagandizing on popular TV shows. We need bloggers who are informed about current entertainment TV (whether it’s broadcast, basic and premium cable, or streaming) and keep up to date with social media and news about shows they monitor. This is a great fit for someone who's going to be watching TV anyway and has opinions about what they see. You know the power Hollywood has in changing our culture. You know exactly what they’re trying to do and you want to identify, expose and stop it.

The Media Research Center is seeking a Writer for its Free Speech America Department. Candidate will monitor social media censorship of conservatives on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google, and other companies with a user base. Additionally, the candidate will provide stories on issues to the website, research and report trends that affect conservatives in social media and tech, and assist in doing research for internal policy analysis.

About the Role

The Media Research Center is seeking an experienced frontline fundraiser to foster, maintain, and cultivate relationships with existing donors while identifying new donors in the Midwest region of the United States. This region includes the states of OH, IN, MI, IL, WI, MN, IA, MO, NE, KS. A strong candidate will be conversant with conservative principles and able to connect meaningfully with donors. The ideal candidate is an out-of-the-box thinker who will demonstrate initiative and develop creative solutions to expand philanthropic opportunities for the MRC and its donors.

This role will report to the Vice President of Philanthropy. While it is strongly preferred that this candidate will live in the midwest, The MRC is open to candidates who live outside that region. The MRC offers a competitive salary and robust benefits package, including significant bonus potential.
