Marty Waddell

Senior Director of Investor Relations

Martha, aka “Marty” Waddell, is the Senior Director of Investor Relations, where she works on building relationships with conservative philanthropists, helping make sure that their nonprofit investment goals are met. She works from her home in Florida, focusing on supporters in The Sunshine State and across the country.

Marty joined the MRC in 2000. Her first role was as a gift officer for the MRC’s Parents Television Council, whose mission was to bring back responsibility and family values to the entertainment industry. In 2001, the PTC formed its own 501(c)(3). In September 2012, Marty transitioned back to MRC as Director of Development for Major Gifts.

Born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia, Marty had an interesting career path that led her to the MRC. After graduating from Marshall University with a BA in Education, she taught elementary school for eight years. Yearning to expand her horizons, Marty earned a real estate license and headed to Florida, where she sold real estate for several years. She returned to the “Mountain State” to serve as the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity, Huntington, West Virginia.

Marty also dipped her toes into the political arena, serving as Campaign Manager for Kelly Given (R) for West Virginia State Senate.

Marty’s family includes her oldest son, Josh; daughter-in-law, Shannon, and their children, Josh II, Morgan, and Arden; and her youngest son, Sean, his wife, Hanisha, and their daughter, Anaiya. While family is her number one “hobby,” she also enjoys reading, cooking, baking, knitting, and piano.
