Write wide range of organizational material from annual reports to president’s letters, to social media. Job will encompass web, email and fundraising copy and video/radio scripts to support fundraising and marketing activities for a non-profit conservative media watchdog organization. Write marketing copy for advertisements and promotional material. Draft primary correspondence to donors, potential donors, foundations, corporations, and important MRC contacts.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Draft web copy for various landing pages
  • Write copy for web, print and radio ads and other promotional materials
  • Draft web and email copy for email and web-based fundraising efforts
  • Write all President’s Reports and other Development communications including standard acknowledgement letters, follow-up letters, and meeting letters
  • Write speeches for addresses to major donors and grassroots members by the President
  • Write planned giving letters to donors and prospects
  • Write Annual Report each year
  • Write Tweets and Facebook posts
  • Write video and radio scripts
Required Experience & Education: 

Candidate will have five years experience in journalism or public relations, relevant writing samples, a bachelor's degree in journalism or English,  and ...

  • Be a news junkie – aware of current events, what’s in the news and what the media spin is on it
  • The ability to write in a clear, compelling manner
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments on time
  • Ability to write on deadline
  • Ability to write in several different voices – corporate, personal, casual, and more
  • Ability to write for a variety of audiences
  • Strong working knowledge of conservative issues and the inner workings of the MRC
  • Willingness to coordinate with department heads to stay current on their issues and concerns
