Rosie O'Donnell, the controversial and inflammatory co-host of the ABC morning talk show "The View," is leaving the program in June after failing to reach a contract extension with the network, Jacques Steinberg reported Thursday.
Steinberg acknowledged O'Donnell's frequent rants against the Iraq War on "The View," as well as her feud with real estate tycoon Donald Trump, and two political complaints, one from an Asian left-wing group about her use of the phrase "Ching-Chong," another from the Catholic League's William Donohue about her mocking the Eucharist.
But Steinberg left out O'Donnell's many other extremist comments, including her9-11 conspiracy theories, documented by the Media Research Center, like this inane bit of metallurgy suggesting the Twin Towers collapsed not because terrorists crashed two jetliners into them, but for some other, secret reason: "Miraculously, for the first time in history, steel was melted by fire. It is physically impossible." Another Rosie classic: "Don't fear the terrorists. They're mothers and fathers."
